During the war of 1812, fights between Russian and Napoleonic forces took place nearby. Several graves of Napoleonic soldiers - the so-called "French graves" - have been preserved. Picturesque forest landscapes, hilly ridges, overgrown with forests, various biotopes (including leks of wood grouses), and deer roar places give the route a special charm and attractiveness.
